Starring in an international series like "Monarch" might be a huge milestone for Inigo Pascual, but like any other project, it is not without its challenges.
During a virtual media conference, the actor-singer shared how he struggled learning to sing country music for his character in the show to the point that he already questioned his capabilities as a singer.
"Singing country was honestly one of the biggest challenges I had to face with this project. Ang daming beses na tinatanong ko sa sarili ko na marunong ba talaga 'ko kumanta?" he said. "Kasi coming from a Pop, R&B singer then all of a sudden you need to forget your knowledge about that to starting a whole new genre."
"There were a lot of times I was questioning my abilities. And I felt like this project really helped me hear better with what I could learn," he shared.
Now that he has starred in a musical series, Inigo said he wants to do broadway next if given the chance, something he missed doing as a singer.
"I wanna do broadway. One of my co-stars is actually a broadway director, two of them actually. They've been encouraging me to audition for Broadway and that's one of my dreams," said Inigo. "When I was in high school, that's all I ever did, I did theater. And hopefully one day, magawa ko ulit."
As for his dream character to portray on Broadway: "My dream role is Jack Kelly in Newsies. I played Link Larkin in 'Hairspray' in high school and I wanna do that on Broadway. I [also] wanna do Alladin," he shared.
