The Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda is officially back for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival with "Partners in Crime", alongside Ivana Alawi and award-winning director, Cathy Garcia-Molina.
During the story conference of the upcoming comedy flick on September 9, the two stars gushed about working with the Blockbuster Director and are both looking forward to being "Cathy-fied", a term used in the industry who have worked with the filmmaker.
“Excited talaga 'ko to be 'Cathy-fied'. I expect and I am willingly embracing 'yung 'Cathyfication' — the ‘Cathyfication’ of Vice Ganda this Christmas,” the comedian said.
For Ivana, it is both an honor and an achievement to work alongside two of the biggest names in the industry.
“I was so happy and so excited. Hindi nga ako nagtanong kung ano'ng kwento kasi oh my gosh, to be with Vice pa lang, malaki na 'yun sobra para sa kin. It’s an achievement,” she said of the "It's Showtime" host.
As for the legendary director, the vlogger-actress believes Direk Cathy would bring out the best in her in the movie. "I'm very excited kasi alam naman natin kung gaano kagaling si Direk Cathy and I know she would really bring out the best in me. Sabi ko nga, wala akong pakialam sa itsura ko, basta alam ko si Direk Cathy, I know she would do the best para sa'kin, para sa'min."

According to Direk Cathy, the comedy film revolves around an ex-couple whose paths would cross again before figuring into a crime.
"'Partners in Crime' is basically mag-ex na nagkita ulit, only to be maishoot sa isang krimen. How they will survive and how they will get out of the situation, while they're fighting as exes," she teased of the plot.
While they did not disclose other details, Vice assured that the movie will be a mix of different brands and experiences that the audience will surely enjoy.
“Iba-iba 'yung maramdaman nila sa pelikulang 'to. May tawa, may kurot sa puso... marami siyang sangkap. Maraming lasa. Hindi lang Vice Ganda brand, hindi lang Vice Ganda experience. May Ivana experience, may Cathy Garcia experience. This is not a Vice Ganda movie. This is a Vice Ganda-Ivana-Cathy Garcia movie," he promised.
"Partners in Crime" will officially start shooting in the third week of September.
It is one of Star Cinema's entries at the MMFF 2022 along with Coco Martin and Jodi Sta. Maria's "Labyu with an Accent".
