Being an award-winning actress at 19 years old didn’t happen overnight for Belle Mariano.

At the “He’s Into Her” Season 2 Finale Grand Assembly held on July 29, Belle took a trip down memory lane as she reflected on her showbiz journey from being a child star to a leading lady.

“I was once a little girl who’s dreaming to be this right now, who’s dreaming to be Max, who’s dreaming to be other roles, and now being able to fulfill those dreams of mine, grabe,” she enthused.

Having started as a young talent in the sketch comedy show “Goin’ Bulilit” when she was 10, Belle uttered words of affirmation that she’d like to offer her younger self.

“If I were to talk to my younger self, I’ll be saying na, hey, you’re doing great, keep up the good work,” she said.

The “He’s Into Her” star continued, “Hindi ko akalain na mangyayari ‘to sa akin honestly.”

Belle, who is now dubbed with her onscreen partner Donny Pangilinan as the New Gen Phenomenal Love Team, shared that she has always had a passion for performing in front of people, which is why she pursued a career in the entertainment industry.

“I think that’s one thing that really encouraged me to be in this industry. Ang dami mong taong napapasaya, ang dami mong taong naiinspire, and sobrang nakakatuwa everytime I’d see people, sasabihin nila sa akin na, ‘Hey, I saw this, grabe ‘yung eksenang mong ‘yun. Nakaka-inspire. It really touched me. It really moved me.’ And hearing those, parang ok, I want to do this more. And then from there, nag-start na po ako mag-teleseryes and then finally here at ‘He’s Into Her’,” she explained.

Aside from “He’s Into Her,” Belle and Donny, or DonBelle as they are fondly called by their fans, starred in the 2021 romantic-comedy film “Love Is Color Blind.” For her performance in the movie, Belle bagged the Movie Actress of the Year award at the VP Choice Awards 2021.

Last July 27, DonBelle was announced to star in their second full-length film together to mark Star Cinema’s big return to the cinemas this year.
