WATCH: Roxanne Barcelo announces migration to Taiwan with family

Roxanne Barcelo excitedly announced to her social media followers that she’s migrating to Taiwan with her husband Jiggs and their one-year-old son Cinco.

In a YouTube vlog posted on August 6, Roxanne shared the big news of their relocation albeit it hadn’t completely sunk in yet for her at the time.

“Magma-migrate na kami. We’re a flock of birds and we will fly to Taiwan! We’re going to Taiwan!” she exclaimed.

In the first half of the 17-minute video, Roxanne showed their process of packing their things with the help of a relocation company a week before their scheduled move last July 19.

“So ‘yun ang update ko. We are moving to Taiwan in less than a week,” she said. “Isang malalim na buntong hininga.”

Roxanne also shared her honest thoughts about what this move means for her and if she’s ready to make this big leap.

“Salamat sa mga nagtatanong ‘Are you ready?’ No, I'm not ready yet. ‘Yung mga gamit hindi pa rin ready and ako, as a person, hindi pa ako ready,” she admitted.

She later added, “I’ve never lived anywhere else for the past 23 years apart from Manila, Poblacion, tsaka US, Virginia. We will see how the ganaps are and excited na ako actually. Sa totoo lang kasi masasarap daw ang food. Maganda ang kabuuan ng Taiwan. So from a beautiful country of the Philippines going to another beautiful country, Taiwan.”

“I’m excited for a new chapter sa totoo lang. For a change, sabi nga ni friendship Mark. Hindi pa nag-sisink in eh kasi hindi naman ako lababo,” she quipped.

Reflecting on her five-year residence in the neighborhood of Poblacion in Makati City, Roxanne said, “I think nasulit ko naman. Super fun naman to live in Poblacion but we’re opening a new chapter in our lives. Bahala na si Lord sa amin.”

“Hindi pa nagsi-sink in ‘yung thought na magma-migrate na kami,” she continued. “Parang sa ngayon, word pa lang siya, pero ‘yung experience itself, hindi ko pa siya ma-imbibe. Ayun, minsan natutulala. Minsan napapaisip ako, wow bagong buhay na. So as a housewife, as a vlogger, as a mother, as a wife, siyempre mami-miss ko ‘yung nanay ko, ang brother ko nasa US, so talagang nami-miss ko talaga siya.”

Amid mixed feelings and bouts of uncertainty, Roxanne stressed that she’s excited for her baby boy to grow up in a different country.

“Honestly, excited na ako for Cinco to move to Taiwan also. Kasi ‘yung nagpunta kami before, change of scenery, parang ganun lang. I feel it would be nice to also raise him there and anytime, we’re just an hour and a half flight away,” she said.

She also told viewers, “Isang sikretong malupit na may pa-clue. Baka may pakanta ako dun. We’ll see. Sana matuloy. Sana matupad. If not, food vlogger. Charing!”
