“Sleep With Me,” the upcoming series starring Janine Gutierrez and Lovi Poe, is joining this year’s Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ+ Film Festival!
On Monday, July 4, Lovi took to Instagram to announce the news that the upcoming series directed by Samantha Lee is set to screen in the Episodes section of the 11-day international film festival which spotlights LGBTQIA+ stories.
“Hey LA, see you for #SLEEPWITHME's world premiere at the 2022 Outfest LGBTQ+ Film Festival!” she wrote in the caption. “Can’t wait for you to get to know Luna and Harry @janinegutierrez in this film — a piece of @givemesam’s heart.”
Meanwhile, director Samantha recalled the time she wrote the “first few lines” of the Janine-Lovi starrer, which coincided with the screening of her 2018 queer film “Billie & Emma.”
“In 2019 when I was in LA for the Outfest screening of ‘Billie & Emma’, I was suffering from a really bad bout of jet lag and ended up writing the first few lines of ‘Sleep with Me’. I've always been a fan of full circle moments and I couldn't be more thrilled to premiere my very first series at #Outfest40. LA friends, see you there?” she detailed.
Scheduled to premiere at Outfest's 40th edition on July 19, “Sleep With Me” follows the story of Harry (Janine), a radio DJ who works at night and gives relationship advice on her show, and Luna (Lovi), someone who suffers from a sleeping disorder.
Jointly produced by Dreamscape Entertainment, Project 8 corner San Joaquin Projects, and iWantTFC, the series will be premiering on iWantTFC on August 15.
