Former singer and actress Carol Banawa got real about her struggle of keeping a healthy lifestyle as a mother, especially in the United States where she “has to do everything herself.”
In an Instagram post yesterday, July 26, the “Tanging Yaman” star candidly shared how she feels that she has put her fitness on the back burner which consequently made her feel “unhappy” about her physique.
“Lately, I have been really feeling ‘unhappy’ about my health and how I look. I felt like I have 'let go' and have not really taken care of myself. I became too comfortable in my own skin and I have forgotten how it felt like to feel and look good,” she opened up to her followers.
With that realization, Carol has since resolved to prioritize her health: “So, I have decided to improve my fitness, my health, and how I carry myself. People who know me well, know that I always dress for comfort. I don’t really plan on changing much about how I carry and take care of myself.”
She continued, “Living here in the US and having to do everything yourself, doesn’t really give you the luxury of time to ‘fix yourself up.’ But I will try. Whenever I can. For me. So I can start loving and feeling happy about myself and my health again.”
In the caption, Carol left some tips for fellow mommies who are going through a similar experience, which include exercising daily, changing out of pajamas, and putting effort into styling one’s hair.
Celebrity moms Nikki Valdez, Kaye Abad, Jolina Magdangal, and Dimples Romana cheered Carol on in the comments section.
Carol, who currently works as a nurse in the US, has three kids with her husband Ryan Crisostomo.
