Gina Pareño admitted that she doesn’t want to be “titled” as a member of the LGBTQ+ community shortly after opening up about her past relationship with late actress Nenita Vidal in an interview with Ogie Diaz.
In a report by PEP published yesterday, July 19, the “Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo” actress explained that she is unfamiliar with the terms associated with the LGBTQ+ community and does not want to be identified as lesbian.
She continued, “I’m all woman! Hello!”
Gina further asserted that her romance with Nenita, also known as Doktora Bong, does not imply that she considers herself a lesbian.
“Kailangang maramdaman ko na mahal kita bago ako makipagrelasyon, pero first time lang nangyari 'yung sa amin ni Bong. First time ko na makipagrelasyon sa tomboy, pero hindi ibig sabihin, tomboy rin ako o member ng LGBTQ,” she said.
After clarifying her earlier statement, the veteran actress stressed that labels don’t matter to her when it comes to love.
Gina’s follow-up statement came within a day after Ogie Diaz posted his interview with the actress on YouTube.
“Oo [miyembro ako ng LGBTQ], bakit, may problema?” Gina said in the video.
