WATCH: How Ivana Alawi's character plays into relationship of Estrellas in 'A Family Affair'

The much-anticipated primetime series "A Family Affair" finally aired on Monday night, June 27, and we were introduced to one of the key characters in the show, Cherry Red, played by Ivana Alawi.

But before we met her character in the present, we had a glimpse of her daunting past (portrayed by Mona Alawi), and how she settled with the Estrella family after she inherited their land from a certain "Carol."

Upon learning this, Cherry Red made clear that all she wanted was a job to sustain her and her aunt's (Ana Abad Santos) needs. After a few negotiations, she ended up being their family's helper.

Fast forward to the present time, Cherry Red's aunt urged her to marry one of the Estrellas brothers to raise them from poverty.

"Sa mundo ngayon, lahat tayo may katapat na presyo. Kaya ikaw, 'wag mong gawin ang ibagsak ang presyo mo. Tandaan mo 'yan," she reminded Cherry Red.

"Tyang, wala po akong presyo. Pero halaga meron, lahat tayo may halaga," she said.

Conflicts seemed to arise when Paco (Gerald Anderson) confessed his feelings for Cherry Red, just as Dave (Sam Milby) — whom Cherry Red had a romantic past with — returns from overseas.
