It's official: Kean Cipriano is no longer part of the OPM band Callalily.
The singer and OC Records' Chairman and CEO confirmed the news in a report published by PUSH on Wednesday, June 22, when asked if his bandmates are part of his record label.
“Callalilly is done. I’m moving on, I’ve moved on, moving forward, and I wish them all the best,” said Kean.
For 17 years they spent making music, Kean believes it's now time to move on to the next chapter of their lives.
“I believed we’re not in a fairy tale world," he said. "I mean we’re okay na parang... I think in a group, magkakasama kayo for 17 years, marami na rin nangyari and... medyo matagal na rin kaming hindi okay. So, alam mo ‘yun, parang ibang chapter naman for us,” he explained.
Now that the group is reportedly looking for a new vocalist, Kean wishes nothing but the best for the remaining four members moving forward.
“I hope they find it, kung sino man. I mean, you know, I wish them really all the best. Like I said, Callalilly is done and kung ano man ang gusto nilang dalhin… I mean, ’yun naman talaga ang point nito, ‘di ba? Na in 10 years, babalikan naming lahat and papasalamatan namin ang isa’t isa and that was a good call, 'di ba? ‘Yung growth natin, iba na siya ngayon, I wish them well," he said of his former bandmates.
Kean also shut down the thoughts of a possible reunion gigs in the future: "Hindi na magbabalik 'yung dating Callalily."
Since the singer's confirmation, Callalily's official Facebook page has changed its name to LILY Music.
The group, which debuted in 2005, is known for its hit songs, "Ex," "Stars," and "Magbalik," among others.
