WATCH: Bea Alonzo offers advice on dealing with body shamers

Any famous celebrity would know that getting criticized for one’s physical appearance unfortunately comes with being in the spotlight. Bea Alonzo is no stranger to this, having been on the receiving end of body shaming comments over the years.

In her YouTube vlog posted on May 28, the “One More Chance” star gave her two cents on how to best deal with people who give unsolicited, and most times harsh, criticisms about one’s body.

"I'm sure ang daming nakaka-experience nito (body shaming). I, for one, I am experiencing this every single day,” she addressed her followers.

“‘Pag nag-post ako sa Instagram, there are people pa rin who would body shame me consistently, and wala, siguro I've come to realize that you have to love your body and yourself first, para made-deflect mo na 'yung mga negative energy,” she said.

Bea believes that the best motivation to get in shape and gain confidence is to do it mainly for yourself.

“In case you want to have a better body, it should be for you,” she added.

"You should work out for yourself and for your health first, and then 'yung results and 'yung output will come after,” she advised.

Bea continued, “You should embrace your own skin, your own body, your curves, and all the flaws to be able to give love to others and be able to present yourself in the best way that you can.”
