Lav Diaz's "Isang Salaysay ng Karahasang Pilipino (A Tale of Filipino Violence)" will finally have its world premiere at the Festival International de Cinema Marseille in France!

The movie, which stars John Lloyd Cruz, will be part of the film fest's International Competition line-up, according to the production outfit.

"Isang Salaysay ng Karahasang Pilipino" is an adaptation of Ricky Lee's "Servando Magdamag."

In a previous report, Direk Lav teased about the plot of the movie, which revolves around the long history of violence in the Philippines.

“It's all about the death of the Monzon family. It's a feudal family, nasa crossroads siya. In short, 'yung premise ng kwento is it's a history of Filipino violence in the country. Kasaysayan ng karahasang Pilipino ‘yung kwento," he said.
