COMPILED: Kapamilya, Kapuso celebs react to ABS-CBN and GMA-7 partnership

The historic Kapamilya x Kapuso partnership didn't only bring excitement to the viewers, but also to the celebrities of both networks.

In case you missed it: Star Cinema movies will be airing on GMA-7 starting this April after the network signed a deal with ABS-CBN last April 5.

Several Kapamilya and Kapuso celebs were quick to take their elation on social media, flooding Instagram with heart and applause emojis to celebrate the milestone.

The Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez was among the first to laud the news, reposting the teaser video and announcement of the partnership on her Instagram.

She simply commented, "WOW!!!!!" in her post, and added the hashtag
#KapamilyaAtKapuso in another.





Her husband Ogie Alcasid was also amused by the news who left a comment in Regine's post, writing, "This is so awesome."

Veteran actor John Arcilla also took to his Instagram page to join the celebration, who called the partnership "a very nice move altogether." He even posted an edit that reads GAMBAS, or a combined acronym of the GMA and ABS logos.



Ara Mina, Benjamin Alves, Jugs Jugueta, and Mark McMahon also showed love and support to the exciting news who left heart emojis in John's post.


Former "It's Showtime" and "Matanglawin" host Kim Atienza was also happy to hear the news, as he reposted the announcement on his Instagram. In the caption, Kuya Kim hoped that the partnership is the "beginning of many beautiful things to come."

Other Kapamilya and Kapuso celebrities who were ecstatic about the news were Jessa Zaragoza, Ruru Madrid, Kakai Bautista, and Kerwin King, who left comments on Star Cinema's Advertising and Promotions Head Mico del Rosario's post.



Shaina Magdayao, Jasmine Curtis, Bianca Umali, Rita Daniela, Nadia Montenegro, and Tim Yap were also elated about the collaboration, who showed their love and support by commenting on Annette Gozon-Valdes' post, the president and programming consultant to the chairman and CEO of GMA Network Films Inc.


The official airing of Star Cinema films on GMA-7 will begin this Sunday, April 10, starting with "It Takes a Man and a Woman" topbilled by John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo.
