WATCH: Cherry Pie Picache, son Nio Tria get matching moon tattoos

Cherry Pie Picache and her son Nio Tria got matching moon tattoos inspired by each other’s birth date moon phase.

In her YouTube vlog posted on March 26, Cherry Pie shared the story of how Nio convinced her to approve his choice of ink, and why the actress also decided to get a tattoo for herself.

"I would like to tell everyone before we did this, this was a responsible decision between me and Nio. Pinag-usapan namin 'tong mabuti. I had to really make him justify," she stressed.

The “Marry Me, Marry You” actress told the viewers that when Nio’s proposed tattoo design ultimately convinced her to let him get inked.

Nio recalled, “Nauso kasi ‘yung mga phases of the moon kung kailan ka pinanganak. Pinapakita ‘yun online or sa NASA. Sinearch ko ‘yung moon phase kung kailan ipinanganak si Mama. May 27, 1970, ‘yung moon phase na ‘yun, ‘yun ‘yung image na kinuha ko kasi ‘yung meaning kasi nun palagi namin sinasabi ‘I love you to the moon and back.’”

Impressed by Nio’s choice, Cherry Pie gave him her go signal. And while they’re at it, she also thought of checking an item off her own bucket list.

“And then, ako naman, I’m 51. May mga bucket list tayo, eh. I’ve always wanted to also have a tattoo pero natatakot ako lalo nung nagka-anak ako kasi ‘di ba sabi nila ‘pag nagpa-tattoo ka hindi ka na pwedeng mag-donate ng blood. So that’s what I was really, really scared of,” she said.

The actress continued, “I had to read up all about tattoos, and putting tattoos, ‘yung ganun. So pwede ka pala mag-donate ng blood after one year. So sabi ko mag-52 na ako this May, might as well na sabayan ko na siya. Sabi niya, ‘Anong ipapa-tattoo mo?’ Sabi ko, ‘O sige, ‘yung moon naman when you were born.’”

Even though she has allowed her son to get a tattoo with her, Cherry Pie emphasized that the same rules don’t apply for all parent-child relationships.

“Guys, I’m just saying sa mga magulang at sa mga kabataan na nanonood ngayon, different strokes for different folks. May kanya-kanya kayong rules sa bahay niyo. May kanya-kanyang pagdidisiplina ang mga magulang niyo, so respetuhan. Maybe not now, maybe in time and if you show them na responsible ka naman sa mga desisyon na gagawin niyo katulad ng pagta-tattoo then ayon, maybe eventually,” she added.

Nio is Cherry Pie's 19-year-old son with her former partner Gary Tria.
