12 biggest Kapamilya shows to watch out for this 2022

Your screens better be ready — 2022 is shaping up to be an exciting year with the upcoming premieres of ABS-CBN’s biggest and most-awaited shows.

During Star Magic's Beyond The Stars Trade Event on March 22, audiences worldwide were given a glimpse of various TV series to look forward to this year.

“2 Good 2 Be True”

Helmed by Mae-Cruz Alviar, this series marks reel-to-real life couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s TV comeback after four years.

“He’s Into Her” season 2

Following the successful run of its first season, “He’s Into Her” will be returning to your screens with its original cast, including lead stars Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, and new faces!

“Run To Me”

Breakout love team Alexa Ilacad and KD Estrada are teaming up for the first time in a TV series in “Run To Me,” directed by Dwein Ruedas-Baltazar and jointly produced by Dreamscape Entertainment, iWantTFC, and Kumu.

Alexa spoke of the series, “It teaches a lot about values regarding family and friends and how we shouldn’t really judge people.”



“Darna: The TV Series”

The much-awaited TV adaptation of Mars Ravelo’s iconic heroine will finally premiere this year! Helmed by Chito S. Roño, “Darna: The TV Series” features a star-studded cast led by Jane De Leon, Joshua Garcia, Janella Salvador, and Zaijian Jaranilla.



“How To Move On In 30 Days”

Maris Racal and Carlo Aquino join forces for the first time as the lead stars of this rom-com series which marks ABS-CBN’s first project under its partnership with YouTube. The series will only be available to stream on YouTube.

“Tara, G!”

Set in the fictional town of La Guerta, this youth-oriented show directed by Cathy Camarillo will star Vivoree, Daniela Stranner, Anthony Jennings, Zachary Castañeda, Kaori Oinuma, CJ Salonga, and JC Alcantara.



“Lyric and Beat”

Following their 2021 series "Saying Goodbye,” Seth Fedelin and Andrea Brillantes are set to headline another iQiyi original: musical series “Lyric and Beat”!

Joining them in the cast are Darren Espanto, AC Bonifacio, Nyoy Volante, Agot Isidro, Joanna Ampil, Sheena Belarmino, Jeremy Glinoga, and Angela Ken.

“Love In 40 Days”

Are you ready for celebrity couple Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte’s newest teleserye? “Love In 40 Days” is a star-studded production featuring veteran actors Joel Torre, Janice de Belen, Lotlot de Leon, Mylene Dizon, Isay Alvarez, Liza Lorena, Ronnie Henares, Tonton Gutierrez, and William Lorenzo.



“Cattleya Killer”

Another series featuring a powerhouse cast is the upcoming international series “Cattleya Killer” starring Arjo Atayde.

Christopher de Leon, Jake Cuenca, Jane Oineza, Ricky Davao, Nonie Buencamino, Ria Atayde, Ketchup Eusebio, Frances Makil, Rafa Siguion-Reyna, Jojit Lorenzo, and Zsa Zsa Padilla have been officially announced to join the series.



“The Goodbye Girl”

iWantTFC’s new original series “The Goodbye Girl” brought out the “hugot” feels of many viewers when it premiered on Valentine’s Day this year. In case you missed it, you can stream it now on iWantTFC!



“A Family Affair”

“A Family Affair” marks Ivana Alawi’s first lead role in a TV series. She will be starring alongside Sam Milby and Gerald Anderson. Also part of the cast are Jake Ejercito and Jameson Blake.

“Pinag-aralan ko talaga ‘yung script and lahat ng mga co-stars ko kung paano umarte and ‘yan because, of course, I want to give them the best,” Ivana spoke of her role in the project.



Lastly, keep your eyes peeled for the Richard Gutierrez-starrer “Iron Heart” which will also be released this year, as well as the return of the Star Magic Games, the Star Magic Ball, and a series of major concerts on the local and international stage.

During the trade event, Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi expressed a message of gratitude to fans and audiences who have supported ABS-CBN’s offerings over the years.

“Kung wala po ang inyong suporta, we may not have survived the past two years, and on behalf of Star Magic and ABS-CBN family, we thank all of you,” he said.
