Kit Thompson has been released from detention after posting a bail of Php 72,000 for charges related to alleged detention and physical injuries suffered by his girlfriend actress Ana Jalandoni.
In a report by ABS-CBN News, Tagaytay chief of police Lt. Col. Rolando Baula confirmed that Kit was freed from jail at around 5 p.m. yesterday, March 21.
Local police arrested the “La Vida Lena” actor last Friday, March 18, after receiving reports that he allegedly mauled and detained Ana in their hotel room in Tagaytay.
On the night of the reported altercation, Ana pleaded for help from her friends by sending photos of her bruised face which she said was caused by Kit.
On March 19, the Philippine National Police (PNP) filed a complaint against the actor for violation of Section 5 (a) of the Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence against Women and Children Act.
Kit subsequently underwent inquest proceedings at the Tagaytay City Prosecutor’s Office, as confirmed by the PNP.
Ana’s lawyer released a statement on Monday, March 21 confirming that the actress is “determined” to pursue a case against Kit over the alleged assault which “severely affected” her eyesight, among others.
“We are determined to pursue the case. Actually, we are preparing to press charges to the fullest extent of the law,” Atty. Faye Singson, Ana’s legal counsel, spoke on behalf of Ana.
In an Instagram post, Ana shared a photo of her bruised face and said that she will soon be releasing a statement.
Kit and Ana made their relationship public in December 2021.
