Ana Jalandoni's camp 'determined' to press charges against Kit Thompson

Ana Jalandoni's camp is “determined” to pursue a case against Kit Thompson for allegedly physically abusing the actress, which "severely affected" her eyesight, among others.

In a report by ABS-CBN News, Ana's legal counsel Atty. Faye Singson said that they are already preparing the charges they'll file agaisnt the actor.

“We are determined to pursue the case. Actually, we are preparing to press charges to the fullest extent of the law,” Atty. Faye said in a statement.

The actress' lawyer also believes such acts shouldn't be condoned, and that it took Ana some courage to speak up about the incident.

“The savage and barbaric acts of the Respondent should not be condoned," she continued. "How ironic that as we celebrate Women's Month, such abuses being committed against women still exist. But know that for Ana to come out and speak up is a bold step to vindicating her dignity.”

“Ang suportang ipinapakita ng publiko ay nakakatulong na palakasin ang loob at patibayin ang dibdib niya. Maraming salamat,” Atty. Faye added.

Ana is still in the hospital receiving treatment according to her camp since "her eyesight is severely affected, among others.” She will also have to undergo further tests “until recovery.”

Last March 18, the couple made headlines early morning after the actress was rescued by the Tagaytay PNP from the hotel they were staying in.

Ana apparently pleaded for help from her friends, accusing Kit of detaining and injuring her.

The actor was then taken by the Tagaytay PNP, where charges were filed against him for violating provisions of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act. He has also undergone inquest proceedings at the Tagaytay City Prosecutor's Office.

Ana also took to her Instagram on the same day to share her sentiments about the incident, posting before and after photos of her.

"When you love someone you will never ever harm them. Minahal mo ba talaga?" she wrote.

"This is me saying, you all should be careful out there. I can't reply to all of you right now but thank you for checking up on me. I will release a statement soon," she added.
