Earlier this month, Diego Loyzaga and Barbie Imperial were spotted together for the first time since confirming their breakup in early February. This sighting inevitably begs the question: are they back together?

In response to the viral photos of them having dinner together in Pasig City, Diego clarified that he and Barbie are “friends” in a report by Cosmo Philippines.

“Balikan? Hindi, we’re friends,” he answered.

“No matter what I answer you right now, it depends on what she feels towards me and what I feel toward her. And right now, I have nothing but love. I have nothing but love to give,” he added.

He further shared that they handled their split maturely but still need time to sort things out.

“I’m not saying that couples who break up and then hate each other in the end are immature, kasi may problema na talagang sobrang laki na, na they can’t get back, or they can’t talk back to each other anymore. I'd like to think that they just need more time para maayos pa ang lahat. But we’re definitely friends in talking terms,” he said.

In a separate interview with ABS-CBN News, the actor confirmed that they are nothing more than friends.

“We’re good, we talk. Please let’s not get to that. We are friends and that’s what matters for now. She’s in Davao now. We are good friends. There is no bitterness on my part," he commented.
