WATCH: Pop-soul singer Raquel Lily’s ‘Ghost’ MV is a realistic portrayal of wanting closure

Raquel Lily’s new groovy single “Ghost” is made more gripping by its plot-driven music video.

On February 26, the soul infused pop artist released the track's official music video starring Annicka Dolonius and Alex Medina in a tale that oscillates between missing someone and being desperate for closure.

Produced by ZooPraxiStudio, the video lends an anecdotal visual to the universal phenomenon of dealing with “ghosts”: past flames who are best forgotten yet linger a little longer as we grapple with the foul truth of them never coming back.

Where the sheen of Raquel’s buttery vocals blends with the soulful uptempo in the song, the video takes us somewhere more dismal. As the female persona floats through the city overnight in pursuit of answers, we are left with more questions. Among many of them is the most apparent one in the lyrics: “How can I be so foolish to think that you would stick around?”

Now available on major digital streaming platforms, “Ghost” is part of Raquel’s upcoming debut album “Fixations” slated for release on March 11.
