Toni Gonzaga won’t be returning as the main host of reality show “Pinoy Big Brother.”
Today, February 9, MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN News announced in a Facebook post that the host-actress has dropped out of her hosting job of 16 years. She has reportedly endorsed the post to her “PBB” co-host Bianca Gonzalez.
“According to a reliable source, Toni Gonzaga will no longer host Pinoy Big Brother. No formal resignation but source said that Toni has voluntarily endorsed the main hosting job of the reality show to Bianca Gonzalez,” he wrote in the post.
Less than two hours later, Toni uploaded an official statement on her Instagram account regarding her resignation.
“It has been my greatest honor to host PBB for 16 years. From witnessing all my co-hosts transition from housemates to PBB hosts are just some of the best moments in my life sa bahay ni Kuya!” she wrote in a note.
“Today, I’m stepping down as your main host,” she confirmed. “I know Bianca and the rest of the hosts will continue the PBB legacy.
She went on to express her gratitude to “Kuya” and fondly look back on the experiences she’s gained from being “Kuya’s angel.”
“It has been my privilege to greet you all with ‘Hello Philippines’ and ‘Hello World’ for the last 16 years. I will forever cherish the memories, big nights and moments in my heart. Thank you Kuya for everything. This is your angel, now signing off…” she ended the note.
She captioned the photo of her statement with "Sending you all my love..❤️✌🏻"
