Being a mom at an early age has made Janella Salvador susceptible to unwanted comments and reactions from netizens who call her "sayang" for being a young mom.
This is what the "Darna" actress revealed in an interview with Ogie Diaz, where she opened up about how she felt "triggered" by this kind of comments, especially since she knows that she isn't what they say she is.
"Doon ako nati-trigger," she pressed. "Kasi, hindi naman ako sayang, eh. I’m still me. I’m still who I am. I’m still Janella Salvador. I can still sing. I can still act. I can still work. Bakit sayang, ‘di ba?"
Janella also believes that she still has the capacity to do whatever she wants to do as an actress, even now that she is a mother.
"I can still do everything that I want to do.
If there's one thing she realized about being a mom at 22, it would be this: "Being a young mom doesn’t mean that my life is over. It just means na it started a bit earlier. That’s it. I’ve never felt more alive.
Janella introduced her son with Markus Paterson, Jude Trevor, in January 2021.
She returned to the limelight in June 2021after being away for some time. She will be playing the serpent queen Valentina in the upcoming "Darna: The TV Series."
