Award-winning filmmaker Eduardo Roy Jr. has passed away. He was 41.
The late director's family confirmed the news through an official statement shared on Facebook by movie producer Ferdy Lapuz.
According to his family, Direk Edong died from massive pulmonary embolism due to hospital acquired pneumonia on Monday, February 21. He was also diagnosed late last year with Burkitt’s Lymphoma Stage IV.
Those who wish to see his remains, a wake will be held on February 24 to 26 at the Arlington Memorial Chapels Hall A in G. Araneta Avenue, Quezon City.
Direk Edong is best known for his award-winning films such as "Bahay Bata," "Quick Change," "Pamilya Ordinaryo," "Lola Igna," and "Fuccbois."
He also helmed the Arci Munoz and JM De Guzman romance "Last Fool Show."
