One need not be a believer in destiny to know that Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano are meant to be together. While their pairing brought "He's Into Her" characters Deib and Maxpein into life, it was in their serendipitous big screen encounter in "James and Pat and Dave" that they made sparks fly for the first time.
In the 2020 romance film starring Loisa Andalio as Pat and Ronnie Alonte as James, Donny played the former's ex Dave who returns and tries to patch things up with her again. However, as persistent as he is to win her heart again, Dave chooses to let go of Pat for James in the end.
And, as they say, when one door closes, another door opens. Dave was reeling from his heartbreak when he met another Pat, in the form of Belle, one of the beach guests who happily comforted him after seeing him crying. If that scene alone isn't enough to describe what serendipity means, then we don't know what is!
While fate brought them together, it was their love and passion for their craft and for each other that made them stay. Now three years strong as a love team, we’re about to see Donny and Belle’s unmatched chemistry in their second full-length film "An Inconvenient Love".
They are set to play Ayef (Belle), a convenience store clerk who dreams of becoming an international animator, and Manny (Donny), a boutique plant shop owner by day and secret social activist by night.
Both believing that love is just another inconvenience, they agree to a contractual love with an expiration date. As the dreaded expiration date nears, will they end their contractual relationship or will love end their inconvenient beliefs?
Directed by Petersen Vargas, and written by Enrico Santos and Daisy Cayanan, “An Inconvenient Love” will premiere in cinemas this Nov. 23!
