Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) has officially announced the eight feature film titles that will be part of this highly anticipated event come Christmas.

MMFF unveiled the remaining four entries that will be part of the festival via its Facebook page on Thursday, Oct. 20. The four films are: “Deleter” directed by Mikhail Red; “Family Matters” directed by Enrico Roque, Ladylyn de Guzman, and Patrick Meneses; “Mamasapano: Now It Can Be Told” directed by Lester Dimaranan; and “My Father, Myself” directed by Joel Lamangan.

The additional four movies are already finished films, according to the MMFF executive committee.
In July, MMFF already announced the four initial entries chosen, based on script submissions. These include: "Partners in Crime" directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina; "Labyu with an Accent" directed by Rodel Nacianceno; "The Teacher" directed by Paul Soriano; and "Nanahimik ang Gabi" directed by Shugo Praico.

“Partners In Crime” and “Labyu with an Accent” are both from Star Cinema, with Vice Ganda and Ivana Alawi, and Coco Martin and Jodi Sta. Maria leading the cast, respectively.

The selection committee, led by screen veteran Boots Anson-Rodrigo, have chosen the eight entries based on the following criteria: artistic excellence (40%), commercial appeal (40%), Filipino cultural values (10%), and global appeal (10%).

Now in its 48th year, "MMFF" will promote the message "Balik Saya" in light of the festival’s return amid the pandemic, while highlighting the "Filipino cinematic experience" during this Christmas season.

The film fest will run from Dec. 25 to Jan. 7 in cinemas. Its prestigious Gabi ng Parangal, where winners of the festival will be named, will be held on Dec. 27.
