ALL IN: ABS-CBN Films’ movies, series, and digital shows of 2021

2021 was quite a redemptive year. As we reeled in from 2020’s life-changing setbacks, we slowly found our footing by bringing back joy and excitement in our lives, especially on our screens and go-to streaming channels.

We might have known this all along, but this year we got a better grasp of the value of stories. As creators and consumers, we’ve learned that stories told through film, television, and other media are as essential as the food we set on our tables and the houses we consider homes. These stories connect us and make us feel understood. These stories bring us laughter, kilig, and a whole spectrum of emotion. These stories are ours.

As we look back on the stories we’ve told this year, allow us to simply say: thank you for making these possible. Now, we hope you enjoy looking back with us. Scroll through to see the movies, series, and digital shows produced by ABS-CBN Films this 2021:

Princess DayaReese

Top-billed by Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber, “Princess DayaReese” marked the pair’s fourth movie together. The rom-com premiered on New Years’ Day of 2021 — a great way to kickstart the year!

Love or Money

“Love or Money,” starring veteran actors Coco Martin and Angelica Panganiban in their first team-up, revolves around two ex-lovers who meet again years after a failed marriage proposal. Directed by romantic-comedy stalwart Mae Cruz-Alviar, the movie is currently available for streaming on Netflix.

Momshies! Ang Soul Mo’y Akin

The three-sided chemistry of Jolina Magdangal, Karla Estrada, and Melai Cantiveros has been proven time and time again in their morning talk show “Magandang Buhay.” That’s why it makes total sense to catapult the Momshies to the big screen in no other than a comedy film about family and love!

Love is Color Blind

With many viewers and DonBelle fans calling this movie “a rollercoaster of emotions,” Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano’s first movie together is one for the books!

Helmed by John Leo D. Garcia, “Love is Color Blind” packs so much emotion in the story of Ino, a painter struggling with monochromatic color blindness, and his best friend Cara who helps him through his disability.

Love at First Stream

This Cathy Garcia-Molina film starring Daniela Stranner, Anthony Jennings, Kaori Oinuma, and Jeremiah Lisbo marks Star Cinema and kumu's first-ever collaboration. Together, the four young stars make up the “Stream Team,” a group of friends who navigate love and friendship online amid the new normal.

As an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival 2021, the film premiered last Christmas Day!

Hello, Stranger: The Movie

Tony Labrusca and JC Alcantara play Xavier and Mico respectively in this Black Sheep romantic-comedy about two guys who meet in a virtual writing camp and navigate their relationship from there.

Kun Maupay Man It Panahon

The Carlo Francisco Manatad film “Kun Maupay Man It Panahon (Whether the Weather is Fine)” starring Daniel Padilla, Charo Santos-Concio, and Rans Rifol has been shown in multiple international film fests, particularly in Switzerland, London, Mexico, Toronto, and Chicago. The award-winning feature is also an official entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

The film is a joint production of iWant, Quantum Films, Black Sheep, Dreamscape Entertainment, Globe Studios, together with Cinematografica, Plan C, House on Fire (France), AAND (Singapore), and KawanKawan (Indonesia).

He’s Into Her

2021 was a year filled with kilig, thanks to DonBelle’s iconic team-up as TagSen!

Helmed by Chad Vidanes, “He’s Into Her” has garnered a massive following among its viewers as well as multiple awards from this year’s edition of the Asian Academy Creative Awards.

The series also stars Kaori Oinuma, Rhys Miguel, Joao Constancia, Criza Taa, Jeremiah Lisbo, Vivoree, Dalia Varde, Limer Veloso, Melizza Jimenez, Ashley del Mundo, Gello Marquez, and Sophie Reyes.

You can now watch (and rewatch!) the first season of “He’s Into Her” on Netflix. And when you’re done, sit tight because “He’s Into Her” Season 2 will be streaming this 2022 on iWantTFC!
