Ivana Alawi, along with her mother Fatima and brother Hash, have tested positive for COVID-19.
The vlogger-actress shared her family's latest ordeal on her latest vlog where she recounted their COVID-19 journey while in isolation.
"Siguro masasabi niyo na sa title at sa itsura ko, I’m not in a good position. Wala ako sa lugar na kaya kong magpasaya ngayon kasi ang bigat-bigat ng pinagdadaanan ko ngayon sa buhay,” she began. “The virus that we really tried to stay away [from] and hindi magkaroon, eh nagkaroon kami. Meron akong COVID.”
According to Ivana, she has been strictly following health and safety protocols for the last two years, even undergoing RT-PCR tests three times a day whenever she attends shoots.
"Nagulat ako kasi feeling ko sobrang maingat [na ako] kasi naka-vaccine na kami [at] hindi ako lumalabas ng bahay," she said.
Ivana said it was her mom who first experienced symptoms in her family, including difficulty of breathing. They then took RT-PCR tests, which tested negative.
However, Ivana started experiencing symptoms two days later, such as headache, body pains, and sore throat. She and Hash then tested positive this time around.
Luckily, their sisters Mona and Amira are negative for COVID.
Ivana then urged everyone to be responsible citizens, especially if they already start experiencing symptoms.
“You have to take responsibility and you have to take accountability so if you are exposed or if you are [not feeling] well, huwag ka nang lumabas and maghintay ka nang five days, magpa-RT-PCR ka kasi ang hirap talaga guys,” she stressed. “Ang hirap ‘pag ikaw or any of your family members or your loved ones get COVID.”
