Yam Concepcion shared her reason why she decided to postpone her honeymoon with husband Miguel Cuunjieng, whom she married just last July.
In a report by Push, the actress explained, “Wala pa. Mahirap ngayon mag-honeymoon. Sa mga nangyayari ngayon sa mundo parang nagi-guilty naman ako magsaya masyado.”
But before anyone else thinks the couple isn’t having any fun together, she quipped, “Darating din tayo sa honeymoon, pero ngayon nagho-honeymoon na kami dito sa apartment. Ibang honeymoon.”
Later, Yam admitted that being married to Miguel feels no different compared to back when they were still dating. Not much change is required from her anyway, because she’s got a supportive partner who doesn’t stop her from doing the things she loves.
“Nung kinasal kami parang hanggang ngayon tinatanong ako ng marami kung, ‘Oh, ano ng difference, may pagbabago ba?’ Parang parehas pa rin naman kami, how we are. Well, hindi naman sa magiging choosy ako (sa mga roles), very supportive naman kasi ‘yung husband ko. So kung ano ‘yung gusto ko gawin, suportado naman niya ako, kaya ayun. Kung gusto ko gawin, gagawin ko.”
When asked to give an advice to those who haven’t settled down yet like her “Init sa Magdamag” co-stars, Yam said, “Alam mo minsan, depende rin sa tao. Case per case basis. Sa stage ng buhay mo na feeling mo ready ka na. Ikaw lang makakapagsabi niyan. Hindi ako. Hindi kahit sino. Sarili mo. So I guess just do what makes you happy and then eventually, it will all just come.”
It could take a while for some, but it sure does seem like it’s worth the wait as Yam is having the best time of her life and she cherishes every moment of it. This is also why she has decided to take a short break from acting.
“So far ini-enjoy ko muna ‘yung take it one day at a time, you know? Ayaw ko muna mag-isip kung anong mangyayari bukas or the next day. ‘Yung natutunan ko kasi sa pandemic is just to really live in the moment, so right now I’m just enjoying every single minute or second of my married life.”
Now that she’s finished her work for “Init sa Magdamag”, which is set to air its finale next week, Yam is learning some new hobbies.
“Magpapahinga siguro muna ako. Siguro I’ll learn a hobby, a new skill muna siguro while I’m out here. Ito nagva-vlog. Mag-subscribe kayo sa YouTube channel ko. ‘Yun lang ang pinagkakaabalahan ko ngayon. So wala pa namang plano ngayon. Bahala na, tingnan natin,” said Yam.
