Toni Gonzaga answers why she doesn’t want son Seve to join ‘PBB’

If there’s anyone who knows the ins and outs of “Pinoy Big Brother”, it’s definitely Toni Gonzaga. Not only did she work for the show behind-the-scenes and as a host since its first season, but she also became a House Guest once upon a time.

Because she knows just how tough it is to be inside Kuya’s house, she shared she wouldn’t want her son Seve be in it someday.

“Ang hirap sagutin. Siyempre kung kami ang masusunod, siyempre ayaw namin kasi na-try na namin, eh. Alam namin na hindi lang siya physical challenge eh. It’s a mental, emotional rollercoaster na pagdadaanan nila,” she said in an report by Push.

The Kapamilya star, however, added that if Seve would want to join the show, then she would just have to support him.

“Ang feeling ko kasi ang mga magulang ang role namin is to support and love our children unconditionally and we cannot impose on them and we cannot tell them what not to do and what to do. Kung ano ‘yung desire ng puso nila ‘pag malaki na sila kung doon papunta siyempre lulunok ka na lang,” said Toni.

She would encourage him get to wherever he wants to just like her own parents did for her. “Naisip ko naman nung bata ako nung nagsabi ako sa mommy ko na gusto ko mag-artista, hindi naman nila ako sinabihan na, ‘Hindi mo puwede gawin ‘yan. That’s not a dream. Hindi ka puwede mangarap ng ganyan.’ They just supported and loved me. So feeling ko that’s our role sa aming mga anak, to love them and support them and of course expose them to different hobbies, sports, and fields, tapos sila na maghahanap ng passion nila in life.”

Now that “PBB” is entering its 10th season, Toni expressed how “grateful” and “excited” she is to still be a part of it. But she also admitted she’s trying not to feel overjoyed until the show officially returns.

She explained, “Hangga’t hindi nagla-launch, hangga’t hindi nagpe-presscon, hanggang walang announcement, ‘yung parang hino-hold back mo pa ‘yung parang full blast na kilig.”

“But, of course, doing ‘PBB’ is like a part of our lives already, nina Bianca (Gonzalez), Robi (Domingo), and this is our second home and it’s always a big blessing when we are given the opportunity to do another season para sa ating mga Kapamilya,” said Toni.

“PBB” season 10 is called “Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity”. It will feature three editions: celebrity, then adults, and teens — which virtual auditions are currently being held for.
