Janine Gutierrez was supposed to have been a Kapamilya much earlier than her transfer early this year, according to Paulo Avelino.
This is what the actor revealed during the virtual conference of their upcoming series "Marry Me, Marry You." The two are handled by the same management, which is why Paulo learns about the "stories firsthand."
“Quick trivia: Janine was supposed to be here maybe a few years back. Nagkaproblema lang with something," he revealed.
Paulo also recalled how Janine cried upon knowing that her initial transfer would not push through.
“My manager called me, iyak daw nang iyak si Janine kasi 'di makakalipat. So parang matagal nang ginusto ni Janine maging Kapamilya,” he added.
The actor also believes there's something about Janine that made him want to work with her even before she transferred.
“You know, I always see Janine in magazines, or on posts. Parang you always wonder, 'Oh, how’s Janine doing? What is she doing now?'
“Parang it makes you also want to try to work with her, because I know she has more to offer, and she has been winning awards here and there. And I don’t know, I just… when it comes to Janine, I feel like a manager," he quipped.
Directed by Dwein Baltazar and Jojo Saguin, "Marry Me, Marry You" also stars Jake Ejercito, Cherry Pie Picache, Vina Morales, Sunshine Dizon, Edu Manzano, Teresa Loyzaga, Lito Pimentel, Joko Diaz, Jett Pangan, and more.
The series will start airing this September 13 on primetime on the Kapamilya Channel.
