Three ABS-CBN programs received nods in the recently concluded 2021 edition of the Venice TV Award (VTVA).
The breakthrough series “He’s Into Her,” the action drama “A Soldier’s Heart,” and the musical game show “Everybody, Sing!” were nominated in three different categories of VTVA — the lone Philippine nominees in their respective categories — as seen in their official list (HYPERLINK: https://venicetvaward.com/winners-and-nominees-2021/).
ABS-CBN Films' “He’s Into Her,” which starred Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, was nominated in the Cross Platform Programming category, and competed against entries from Brazil and Spain. Brazil’s “OFF Makers” took home the Gold Medal.
Meanwhile, the Gerald Anderson-starrer “A Soldier’s Heart” went against television shows from Brazil, Portugal and Turkey for the Best Soap/Telenovela. Brazil's "Mother's Love" won the category.
The all-new Vice Ganda-hosted game show "Everybody, Sing!" on the other hand, was nominated for the Light Entertainment category, and competed against entries from Britain, Brazil, Japan, and Qatar. Britain’s “Rob & Romesh Vs.” brought home the award.
The organization said that the nominees — the three Kapamilya shows included — will be recognized by the VTVA with Nominee Certificates.
VTVA is an annual event organized by international jurors in Italy and held right after the prestigious Venice Film Festival.
