Vilma Santos recalls unforgettable scene with John Lloyd Cruz

A real cultural reset occurred when two legends Vilma Santos and John Lloyd Cruz got together in one frame for an iconic confrontation scene.

It was for the 2009 blockbuster “In My Life”, where they both end up in a slapping match after a heartbreaking moment in the film.

Looking back on this experience for a vlog, the Star for All Seasons revealed how John Lloyd hesitated to do the scene.

“Nako, napakasarap din kasama nito,” shared the veteran actress. Lloydy, thank you. You’re such a good actor. I don’t know kung saan mo hinuhugot.”

Talking more about the scene, she added, “Masakit din ‘yung sampal niya. [With] the great Inang Olivia M. Lamasan, we started ata two or three o’clock in the morning. Basta galing sa puso 'yung arte, you will never go wrong.”

Also in “In My Life” was her son Luis Manzano, who played as her child in the film as well. Vilma found this as a challenge that “drained” her.

She explained, “First time I learned si Lucky ang kukunin, ninerbiyos ako.

The 6th district Batangas Representative spoke about her roles in “Bata, Bata… Paano Ka Ginawa?”, as well as “Dekada ’70”, which she admitted inspired her in her career as a politician.
