If you’ve listened to Jayda’s self-penned debut album “Bahagi,” you would know that the 18-year-old songbird writes from the heart. If you haven’t, well go ahead, we’ll wait.
Because Jayda’s songs drum into our deepest hugots, we can’t help but think “What songs does Jayda listen to?” So we went ahead and asked her!
After the “Paano Kung Naging Tayo?” singer shared to us what her go-to songs are during the rainy season, we've come to understand where the singer-songwriter gets her distinct musical flow and depth in songwriting.
Jayda revealed that her current Spotify faves are “Harana” by Parokya ni Edgar, “favorite crime” by Olivia Rodrigo, “august” by Taylor Swift, “Visiting Hours” by Ed Sheeran, “I Guess I’m In Love” by Clinton Kane, and “The Night We Met” by Lord Huron, among others.
A sneak peek into her song curation is enough for us to conclude that Jayda is fond of delicate melodies paired with heart-wrenching lyrics: a combo that can do no wrong in our book.
Her playlist also explains much of Jayda’s approach in songwriting: “Kailangan alam mo talaga 'yung gusto mong sabihin bago ka magsulat ng kanta. Or even during the process of it, you just have to know what you wanna say.”
Now if only Jayda could give her own lovely renditions of her most-played songs, then our rainy days would have already been made.
