John Arcilla is still on a high from his win at the recently concluded Venice International Film Festival where he won Best Actor for his performance in the movie "On The Job: The Missing 8."
On Instagram, the veteran actor shared a closer look of his Coppa Volpi for Best Actor as he thanked "On The Job" director and producer Erik Matti for accepting the award on his behalf.
"My Coppa Volpi. Thank you @erikmatti . 🙏🙏🙏🥂 Sa atin pong lahat ang Tagumpay. Sa ating lahat ang karangalan. Mabuhay!" he wrote in the caption.
John also received a surprise virtual celebration from his ABS-CBN family led by CEO and President Carlo Katigbak, Chief Operating Officer of Broadcast Cory Vidanes, Head of Star Magic Lauren Dyogi, ABS-CBN Films Managing Director Olivia Lamasan, and Dreamscape Entertainment head Deo Endrinal, among others.
As seen in the interview on "TV Patrol," Carlo congratulated the actor for his huge win, and also unveiled their big surprise for him.
"I just want you to know that you don't only bring pride and glory to ABS and Star Magic but also to the entire film industry and the whole country."
"Thank you for this incredible honor you brought to the network. We're so proud of you, and I promise your Kapamilyas are just as proud of you as I am. In exchange, what I want to offer you is to tell us what your dream role is, and we'll do everything we can to make that happen," he enthused.
John is the first Southeast Asian actor to win in the oldest film festival in the world.
The Venice film fest is counted among the three most prestigious film festivals worldwide, alongside Cannes and Berlin.
