"Way Back Home" was shot 10 years ago, and lead stars Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes were every bit professional then as they are now.
This is what director Jerry Lopez Sineneng revealed during the pre-show of the digitally restored film, together with writer Vanessa Valdez and ABS-CBN Film Restoration head Leo Katigbak.
In the show, Direk Jerry recalled what the two ladies had to face during one of their scenes while shooting at the sea.
"I consider that as my most difficult scene in the movie kasi galing ng bagyo ang Bataan the day before when we shot that. And we're down to our last few days before we finish na talaga kasi 'di aabot sa playdate," he recalled.
Ang problema, 'pag tumayo ka, it's nothing but burak. Burak talaga 'yung ilalim ng dagat."
While the situation already seemed dangerous and challenging, Kathryn and Julia proceeded with the scene without hesitations.
"Hats off naman talaga ako kay Julia at Kathryn. Kasi basta gumanon [tumaas] na 'yung paa nila, umaakyat na 'yung burak. So I had to show them na hindi, wala 'yan.
They even reached a point that Direk Jerry didn't want to continue shooting the scene anymore.
[But] we had to do it. I love them," he praised the two.
