Here's why DonBelle, KaoRhys, and CrizJo's chemistry seem so effortless

Like any other on-screen love teams, chemistry is something the "He's Into Her" team-ups worked on as the series progressed.

We saw more of that process in "He's Into Her: The Journey" where the three love teams — Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano (DonBelle), Kaori Oinuma and Rhys Miguel (KaoRhys), and Criza Taa and Joao Constancia (CrizJo) — spilled how they achieved the spark they have now.

While the workshops and team buildings did help, Star Cinema Creative Director Vanessa Valdez said that the stars' own efforts to work on their own "unique connection" was how it became possible.

And for Criza and Joao, that connection was instant. Joao shared, "Honestly kaming dalawa, walang awkward moments."

"Since I came from a boy band, so pakilig m-kilig kami...I guess that's why it was easy for me and Criza to do kilig stuff like that."

Criza also believes her maturity at the young age of 16 helped her connect with Joao easily.

"Siguro at my age din, 16, parang may pagka-mature din po talaga ako as a person. And siguro dahil doon kaya rin hindi kami masyadong awkward ni Joao. Nakaka-relate din ako sa kanya kahit na malayo 'yung age gap namin," she said.

The same goes for Kaori and Rhys, who first met during "Pinoy Big Brother: Otso." However, it was only after their stint that they got closer.

"Noong paglabas namin ng bahay, mas naging kilala na namin ang isa't isa. Mas naging close kami sa labas," Kaori said.

Agreeing with Kaori, Rhys shared how he shows her his concern.

"Ang tawag ko sa kanya noong 'PBB,' Ate Kaori. Ganun, di ko alam bakit. I always ask if she has water or I always give her water ganon, or kung kumain na ba siya," he shared.

"Maalaga siyang tao," Kaori affirmed. "Hindi lang naman ako inaalagaan niya, lahat sa set ganun. Ganun siya, kapag kailangan ko ng tubig, 'Tubig?'"

Meanwhile, Belle's openness to listen and Donny's vulnerability to his leading lady were the perfect combination to making their chemistry work.

"I got comfortable with her. She knows this — I don't really open up to a lot of people. Hindi talaga kasi it takes a while for me to warm up to someone and to be vulnerable. But with Belle, I trust her," Donny admitted.

It's also something Belle believes contributed to fostering their friendship.

"Mahilig kasi ako na magbasa ng tao. 'Paano kaya 'to?'"

"Noong una medyo natakot akong i-approach si Donny. Na-intimidate ako of course. But then it really just takes time for him to warm up. And it's nice kasi ayun 'yung gusto mong klase ng friendship na parang mas nagiging open kayo sa isa't isa without rushing things," she shared.
