The official trailer of Carlo Francisco Manatad’s "Kun Maupay Man It Panahon" (Whether The Weather Is Fine) has finally arrived!
We got our first glimpse at scenes between stars Daniel Padilla, Rans Rifol, and Charo Santos-Concio in this two-minute preview uploaded by Black Sheep on Saturday, August 7.
In it, we see Daniel and Rans stepping foot in an evacuation center, where residents are settling in as another typhoon approaches.
There’s also a scene where the two are joined by the character played by Charo, who refuses Daniel's idea of relocating to Manila with other survivors.
Set against the backdrop of Typhoon Yolanda, the film tells the story of Norma (Charo) and her son Miguel (Daniel) as they struggle for survival and deal with the absurdity of fate, sustained by the hope that they carry, and what is lost and gained.
Rans plays the character of Andrea, who “becomes Miguel's guiding light as they traverse and prepare to flee the wreck they once called home.”
"Kun Maupay Man It Panahon" (Whether The Weather Is Fine) will have its world premiere at the 74th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland this August, to be followed by a North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) under the Contemporary World Cinema programme in September.
The film is a joint production of iWant, Quantum Films, Black Sheep, Dreamscape Entertainment, Globe Studios, together with Cinematografica, Plan C, House on Fire (France), AAND (Singapore), and KawanKawan (Indonesia).
