The Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla series "Pangako Sa 'Yo" captured Ecuadorians anew with its airing on free TV via TC Televisión with the title "La Promesa."
According to a statement by ABS-CBN, the 2015 remake of the series helped push TC Television to lead the ratings in Guayaquil, a key region in the ratings game in Ecuador. This is the second time that the Spanish-dubbed "Pangako Sa'Yo" ran on TC Televisión. It first aired in 2020 from April to August.
"TC Televisión was very satisfied with the performance of both titles of this drama, we have viewers clamoring to see the episodes again on social media," said Cesar Diaz from 7A Media, a company into international sales of audiovisual content for all television media and digital platforms.
Apart from its success in Ecuador, "Pangako Sa 'Yo" also had immense viewership in other Latin American territories such as Peru and the Dominican Republic. It will also have an upcoming adaptation in Mexico. "Pangako Sa 'Yo" also starred Jodi Sta. Maria, Angelica Panganiban, and Ian Veneracion.
ABS-CBN has expanded its content distribution across Latin American, African, and Asian territories in 2020 having sold 16 titles, including "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano," "Kadenang Ginto," and "The General's Daughter.".
