Jane de Leon’s tearful exit sets new record for ‘Ang Probinsyano’

“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” set a new record for reaching an all-time high viewership on Kapamilya Online Live with the episode that marked Jane de Leon’s exit in the series aired last Friday, August 20.

Jane’s character Lia came clean to Coco Martin’s Cardo, whom she was intitially at odds with, that she wasn’t responsible for the death of his wife Alyana, played by Yassi Pressman.

The two hugged goodbye and Lia walked away with tears in her eyes, encouraged by Cardo to live her life.

Jane left the primetime teleserye to start filming the “Darna” TV series this September.

While excited to finally portray the superhero after a long delay, the actress got sentimental on her post bidding farewell to the “Ang Probinsyano” team.

With a photo of herself with Coco, she wrote, “Nagpapasalamat po ako unang-una kay Lord, sa Dreamscape Family, ABS-CBN magement, and bosses for giving me the opportunity na mapabilang sa primetime seryeng ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’. Sa buong cast and production, lalong-lalo na kay Direk Coco Martin for being so supportive sa pag-alalay sa bawat eksenang gagawin ko.”

She continued, “It was an honor and privilege for me to be casted and be a part of the show. Thank you for the warm welcome. Sobrang dami ko pong natutunan at sa mga eksenang dito ko lang po nagawa. It was worth the experience.”

Then she tagged the veteran actors she had the pleasure of working with in the series, including Michale de Mesa, Jaime Fabregas, Angel Aquino, Cristina Gonzales-Romualdez, Christian Vasquez, and John Prats.

Jane thanked them for the memories and lessons she learned. “‘Di po matatawaran at siguradong mami-miss ko.”

“At sa lahat na walang sawang nanood, sumubaybay sa ‘FPJ-AP’ gabi-gabi at kay Capt. Lia Mante, MARAMING, MARAMING SALAMAT PO SA INYONG SUPORTA. Hanggang sa muli!” she added.

“THIS IS CAPT. LIA MANTE - SIGNING OFF,” said Jane.

Following Jane's exit, Julia Montes would be making her way into the show as Mara.
