Jodi Sta. Maria announced with pride that she’s one of the producers of the “The Boy Foretold By the Stars” series sequel, “Love Under the Stars” heading to iWantTFC on August 16.
In a report by Push, the Kapamilya star shared her thoughts as to why the film, which she also produced, was received so well when it premiered at the Metro Manila Film Festival in 2020.
“Every story naman talaga is worth telling, ‘di ba? And maganda din talaga ‘yung mga dramatic points ng pelikula. The characters are so relatable. Alam mo ‘yung kilala natin sila. I guess that’s why when you watch it, it has that effect on you. It is a person’s heart that you’re watching, eh,” Jodi explained.
She added, “It’s their story and regardless of gender or race or social status. Love is really universal.”
She then talked about the film going through some struggles, but to her, all of it was worth it. “Napakaraming pinagdaanan ng pelikula bago siya nailabas and we’re just so happy na after so many redirections na nangyari sa pelikula, naging Second Best Picture tayo, nanalo tayo ng Gender Sensitivity Award, and we’re just blessed with a good directors and good actors so I couldn’t ask for more.”
Jodi took the time to thank everyone involved in “Love Under the Stars”, including stars Adrian Lindayag and Keann Johnson, who are both reprising their roles in the series after playing as the two high school students who found love in each other in the film.
“Nagpapasalamat siyempre unang una sa Dreamscape, sa iWant TFC, Direk Dolly (Dulu), thank you for sharing your story with us. Gusto ko rin i-commend ang ating cast. Thank you so much for sharing your talent and for doing such an amazing job breathing life into the character.”
She also didn’t forget to express her gratitude to the fans who have supported “The Boy Foretold By the Stars” and wished that they would love the series as well.
“And thank you din sa lahat ng tumulong sa atin to get the message out there and dun sa mga sumubaybay sa ‘The Boy Foretold By the Stars’. Ito na 'yung series na hinihingi niyo, na inaabangan ninyo, iniintay ninyo. Sana makasama pa rin namin kayo sa journey ni Luke at ni Dominic. Ingat kayong lahat. Please stay healthy and stay safe. God bless you all,” said Jodi.
