Kylie Padilla speaks up following father Robin's confirmation about her breakup with Aljur Abrenica

Confirmed: Kylie Padilla and Aljur Abrenica have split up.

The actress herself confirmed the news through a statement she sent to GMA News yesterday, July 8. In the statement, Kylie admitted that she and Aljur are going through a hard time, and that she's asking for respect from everyone about the decision they made.

Part of the statement reads, “In the past few months, our family has gone through the process of recovering, healing, and moving on. All we need right now is respect—first and foremost, on the decisions we have made as a family and respect for each and every member of our family—to Aljur who is the father of my two wonderful boys, most especially to Alas and Axl.”

Kylie then said that she and the actor are currently in a "healthy co-parenting relationship" for their two sons.

She ended her statement with, “We pray and hope that we will become better persons through this experience and will bring out the best in all of us. Thank you for your love and support."

The confirmation came following Kylie's father Robin Padilla's revelation on Ogie Diaz's vlog that the couple have indeed separated.

“Noon pa lagi kong tinatanong si Kylie, 'Agrabyado ka ba? Hindi naman daw. 'Okay lang ako pa.' Ito, tinanong ko uli, 'Anak, agrabyado ka ba?' 'Hindi, Pa, ako ang nakipaghiwalay, eh,’” Robin narrated.

The action star also confirmed that a third party was the reason why they split up.

“Meron daw [third party], eh. Eh, imposible ba 'yun? Hindi naman imposible 'yan. Eh, lalaki 'yan. Hindi 'yan pwedeng hindi mangyari. Kalokohan ang hindi mangyari [ang third party] lalo at nasa showbiz tayo," Robin told Ogie.

"Kaya lang, hindi na uso mga martir ngayon. Tanggapin natin, wala na tayo dun. 'Yun ang unang-unang sinabi ko kay Kylie nung nag-usap kami. 'Lalaki iyang asawa mo. Pasalamat ka nga, alam mong lalaki.' E, wala, hindi raw niya kaya.”

While Robin said he doesn't want to meddle with the couple's marital problems, he said he already reached out to Aljur to give some advice.

"Minessage ko lang siya. Sabi ko, 'Isa lang ang gusto ko. Tumigil kayo sa social media. Nakakahiya 'yan. Wala akong ano d'yan. Problema niyo 'yan. Isipin niyo mga anak niyo,’” he said to the actor.

“Sa akin, ang dalawang mag-asawa na hindi na nagkasundo, hindi kayo dapat maghiwalay na magkaaway. Bakit? Nagmahalan naman kayo. Nasarapan naman kayo pareho. Anong dahilan? Dahil nagtaksil 'yung isa? Tao ka, mangyayari at mangyayari 'yan,” he added.

Rumors about the couple's breakup first circulated in February this year after Kylie posted some cryptic stories on Instagram. She also posted some pictures where the netizens noticed she wasn't wearing her wedding ring.

Kylie and Aljur tied the knot in December 2018.
