'Isang tingin, magkakaintindihan:' Bea Alonzo, John Lloyd Cruz, and the connection they have in their movies

The magic that Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz have on the big screen is something that still amazes us after all these years. It's what sets them apart from other team-ups, that the mere news of them reuniting together already excites us.

And last June 30, we saw them together again on one screen, for the pre-show of the digitally restored "Miss You Like Crazy" premiere with Cathy Garcia-Molina and Vanessa Valdez. In the mini-reunion, the two stars got candid about how they have built this kind of connection over time.

For Bea, having worked with John Lloyd for years helped her "approximate" the scenes she has with him.

"But each time magagawa namin 'yung eksena, laging may bago akong nakikita o nararamdaman. I think it's something very special because after working with the same person for so many years, nasu-sorpresa ka pa rin each time."

Bea also emphasized how all they need is just a simple glance to understand what needs to be done.

For example 'yung eksena sa kusina [sa 'Miss You Like Crazy']. Alam mo 'tong pakiramdam na 'to.' And then parang naniwala ako na alam ko 'to. Kahit parang noong una hindi ko alam pero biglang may mga nag-flash na alam ko 'to," she recalled.

John Lloyd, who agreed with what Bea said, explained that most of what the viewers see is something that was done on the spot.

The digitally restored and remastered "Miss You Like Crazy" is now streaming on KTX.ph. For tickets, you can purchase them here.
