Star Cinema and KUMU are joining forces!
ABS-CBN Films Managing Director Olivia "Inang" Lamasan and KUMU Senior Vice President for Business Development Paolo Pineda made the announcement today, July 2.
The romantic comedy movie will be helmed by none other than Blockbuster Director Cathy Garcia-Molina. Inang teased that the project will star Rise Artists, and will also introduce up and coming stars from the livestreaming giant. No further details have been released, but we're already getting hyped as early as now to know the lead stars, the cast, and the plot of the upcoming film. Direk Cathy also teased that the movie will be very interactive and will be made through the help of the audience, and that "bombs" will be dropped on her KUMU channel, so be sure to follow her!
For the past year, Star Cinema found ways to keep telling stories amid the challenges of filming under the new normal. This includes projects such as "The Four Bad Boys and Me," "Boyette, Not A Girl Yet," and "My Lockdown Romance," among others that were shot during the quarantine restrictions.
Meanwhile, KUMU has become a channel for the stars of ABS-CBN Films' talent management arm Rise Artists Studios to interact with their fans through various shows on the platform.
The upcoming film marks the film production outfit and the country’s biggest live streaming and social entertainment platform's first partnership together that aims to bring a different kind of entertainment viewing to the audience.
