Black Sheep has released the first look at "Kun Maupay Man It Panahon" starring Charo Santos-Concio, Daniel Padilla, and Rans Rifol, and we are READY!
The two-minute clip showed Daniel and Rans lining up at an evacuation center following Typhoon Yolanda's destruction.
Daniel only spoke at the last few seconds of the clip, but the two actors perfectly conveyed the tension and anxiety they felt through their expressions and actions alone. It should go without saying that we are more than ready to watch the film!
"Kun Maupay Man It Panahon" marks Carlo Francisco Manatad's debut feature and will premiere at the Cineasti del Presente section of the Locarno Film Festival this August.
With an English title "Whether the Weather is Fine," "Kun Maupay Man It Panahon" is set against the backdrop of Typhoon Yolanda and tells the story of Miguel (Daniel) who is searching for his mother Norma (Charo) and his beloved Andrea (Rans) just before another storm approaches them.
The film is a joint production of iWantTFC, Quantum Films, Black Sheep, Dreamscape Entertainment, Globe Studios, together with Cinematografica, Plan C, Weydeman Bros. (Germany) House on Fire (France), AAND (Singapore), and KawanKawan (Indonesia).
It was developed at the La Fabrique des Cinema du Monde (Cannes), TorinoFilmLab Europe and Semaine dela Critique’s Next Step (France) and is supported by the TorinoFilmLab Co-Production Award (Creative Europe), Aide Aux Cinema du Monde of CNC and Institut Francais (France), Film Development Council of the Philippines, and the World Cinema Fund (Germany).
