MMFF 2020 Best Picture 'Fan Girl' coming to Netflix this June

The Paulo Avelino and Charlie Dizon-starrer "Fan Girl" is finally dropping on Netflix!

Starting June 17, the dark drama will be available for streaming to a wider audience as Netflix Philippines announced today, June 4.

The film was an official entry to the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival, which garnered multiple awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Sound, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, and Best Musical Score.

It also brought home several wins from the 4th Eddys namely Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Sound, and Best Editing.

Helmed by director Antoinette Jadaone, "Fan Girl" revolves around an obsessed fan named Jane (Charlie) who impulsively sneaks onto the back of her idol Paulo's (as himself) pick-up truck from one of his mall shows.

As she ends up seeing who her idol is off-cam, Jane finally realizes why they say that "you should never meet your idol."
