Nadine Lustre once again proved she’s not afraid to speak her mind and the truth.
In a conversation with Edward Barber on his livestream show “Kwentong Barber”, the two stars got to talking about working with people who make their jobs much more of a struggle.
The “Wildest Dreams” artist then shared that she meets people like this not just on set, but also on her free time.
“That’s not just the people with who you work with. It’s also for people outside just walking around the mall,” said Nadine.
She recalled an instance where she was called a name by a lady that she didn’t say hi to. “There’s one time I was walking around the mall, walking lang, like passing lang. And then one of the shops, there is this one person, a lady, and she said, ‘Suplada naman.’ And I looked at her and I’m like, ‘Am I supposed to say hi to you? I don’t know you.’”
This offended Nadine because the lady expected a greeting from the actress, as if she was obliged to do so. “She was just there! And she was expecting me to say hi to her. So if you want me to say hi to you, say hi to me or acknowledge me, or greet me. And I’m not gonna go out of my way to say hi to you.”
Nadine reiterated that they are performers and to entertain is their job, not please every single person they meet.
“I think it’s also because people forget that we are also people, humans. That it’s not our responsibility to acknowledge everyone and to please everyone,” she continued. “Our responsibility is to give entertainment and that’s not a part of it.”
Despite the local court upholding her contract with Viva, Nadine is promoting her upcoming digital concert “Virtual Madness” happening this July 3.
Several reports say she may face contempt charges by pushing through with the event, but Nadine’s camp has expressed plans on filing a motion for reconsideration.
