Moira Dela Torre was among the singers invited to perform following the requiem mass for former president Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III last June 25.
The singer-composer performed her hit song “Paubaya,” which she rewrote on the spot, 10 minutes before she sang it in front of the audience.
According to Kris Aquino, she requested for the song to be rewritten in such a way that it will be dedicated to her late brother, which the singer agreed to.
“It was her biggest hit but she rewrote the lyrics. Gusto ko magpasalamat kay Moira because she rewrote the lyrics so it could be dedicated to Noy,” Kris said during her speech.
Kris also revealed that she actually co-wrote the revised version with Moira. "This is the only time you will hear this version... I actually got my dream because I got to co-write with you [Moira],” she added.
The rewritten version, which features lyrics such as, "Bakit hindi ko naisip na may hangganan? Salamat sa oras, na kapiling ka," received so much praise from Kris, saying that it reflects the response of the public upon learning the sudden death of PNoy.
“Na-shock tayong lahat with what happened. We all feel he was gone too soon. Lahat ata ng mga Pilipino na nagmahal sa kanya,” Kris said.
“Konting konti po sa inyo ang nakaalam ng pinagdaanan niya. Ito po ang ating way para ma-comfort ang mga sarili natin. Kasi ngayon hindi na siya makakaranas pa ng sakit. Hindi na siya mahihirapan pa. Nandoon na nga siya sa mas maligayang lugar,” she added.

Apart from Moira, celebrity couple Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid also performed after the mass, with a song they once sang to support PNoy for his bid for the presidency in 2010.
