Alessandra De Rossi made some very important points about womanhood and the pressures that go along with it on Twitter last Tuesday, May 4.
The actress aired out her frustrations about being made to feel less of a woman by society, simply for not being married or single and not having kids.
“BV (bad vibes) na minsan when people make you feel you're less of a woman, because you're not married or you don't have kids (yet) or a ring on your finger. Para bang… Pwede bang ito ‘yung path namin?! Sige, what is the essence of a woman? Malay ko! I don't even know the essence of a man!” she said on a tweet that has more than 2000 retweets and 14,000 likes as of writing.
She followed it up by saying that if there are women that feel like they have been fulfilled by marrying or being a mom, then that’s alright. And if there are women who haven’t or choose not to, then that’s alright as well.
“If motherhood or getting married is the best thing that ever happened to you, I'm happy for you. I'm sure it is the happiest place to be,” she said. “Kanya-kanyang trip lang ‘yan. Naiiyak nga ako sa magandang sunset and it's also the best thing for me.”
Alessadra added that she’s contended with what she is and what she has now and that’s all that matters.
“Stop feeling like you've made it, because you're there na and I'm not... And I seriously do not care,” she wrote
Then she continued, “Whatever God gives me, I take it. Because I never asked for anything but my family's safety. I never prayed for a man or a career.”
And that, right there, is true queen behavior.
