If Gerald Anderson were in his "Init Sa Magdamag" character Tupe's shoes in the series, he would feel very awkward about reuniting with an ex.
This is what the actor admitted during the show's virtual conference over the weekend, where he was asked about his reaction when Tupe and Rita's (Yam Concepcion) paths crossed again in the series. However, Rita is married this time around to Peterson (JM De Guzman).
While he hasn't experienced it yet in real life, Gerald read from the netizens' comments that they feel "awkward" about their situation.
“Hindi ako makaka-relate d'yan e. I think sa mga comments na nabasa ko sa eksena na namin na nagkita si Tupe, Rita, at Peterson, [sabi nila] ‘Awkward.’ ‘Oh my God!’” he said.
But if ever this will happen to him in real life, Gerald said that respect should be maintained between the exes.
“It's a very awkward situation. Kung sa totoong buhay, you just go back to always remembering na naging masaya kayo and you maintain the respect kahit anumang mangyari,” he said.
The actor also gave advice to his character Tupe's situation saying that he should focus his energy in a positive way.
“Lumayo na siya [kay Rita]. Nakikita naman niya na mahal ni Peterson si Rita talaga. It’s a very awkward situation," he advised.
“Mahal mo siya, 'di ka pa naka-get over sa kanya, use that energy in a positive way na ginagawa naman ni Tupe nung first week ng show. Kailangan physically lumayo ka because 'di mo kakayanin 'yun. Kahit nga 'di mo na mahal, ang awkward," he added.
