Filipino beauty guru and social media star Bretman Rock let Architectural Digest into his home in Hawaii for its Open Door series on Youtube.
The 22-year-old migrated to Hawaii when he was a kid with his family and can’t imagine himself living anywhere else.
While flaunting the view from his frontyard, he shared, “My favorite part of living in Hawaii is the energy here. Obviously, there are so many mountains around the world, but I just feel like Hawaii mountains hit different. It’s such a magical state, it’s such a magical place to live in. I could not see myself thriving anywhere else in the world. It will forever be my home and I just love it, because people treat me like a normal person here.”
But, of course, Bretman never strays too far from his Filipino roots and made sure to put some Pinoy touches into his home.
For his formal living room, he bought some pieces that would always remind him of his first home, including the Dragnet and Bloom chairs created by renowned Filipino designer Kenneth Cobonpue.
“I am obviously from Hawaii, but I am Filipino, so I have a lot of local pieces from this room and I also have a bunch of Filipino pieces in this room,” he said.
He also showed the chandelier hanging from his living room that feels reminiscent of his childhood.
“It kinda reminds me of the Philippines and the kind of things I grew up around.” He added, “I know that’s so dramatic, but this living room reminds me so much of moving to America and being an immigrant kid.”
Check out his room that couldn’t have been more on-brand with a stripper pole installed right in the middle of it! Plus, peep the earpiece he's wearing like the one worn by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray!
