This Week on 'We Rise Together': 'He's Into Her' Creatives + more 'PBB Connect' alumni!

More "Pinoy Big Brother: Connect" alumni and the creatives behind the upcoming series "He's Into Her" were the guests for this week's episodes of "We Rise Together"!

Last April 26, controversial housemates Justin Dizon and Russu Laurente joined the show to talk about their short yet memorable "PBB" experience, being the first two evictees of the season.

Justin said that he is fully embracing being tagged as "controversial" because of what he did to fellow housemate Jie-Ann Armero where he used her towel wrapped around her head to wipe his hands.

"I think it's okay. I'm totally embracing that branding of being controversial. I think 'no, in the whole batch, that is what sets you apart from the rest of the group. In hindsight, let's be honest: bad publicity is still a publicity after all," he said.

Meanwhile, Russu, who once supported the shutdown of ABS-CBN, said that what he did served as a lesson for him.

"Sa akin po okay lang naman po kasi kailangan pong tanggapin kung ano 'yung mga nagawa ko, so kailangan kong harapin bilang isang lalaki 'yung mga pagkakamaling nagawa ko. Tinatanggap ko po siya tapos dinadagdagan ko po siya bilang isang lesson," he said.

For the April 28 episode, "PBB Connect" alums Alyssa Exala and Quincy Villanueva graced the show and they happily recalled their favorite moments while inside Kuya's house.

For Alyssa, she said that their Christmas celebration together will always be memorable to her.

"Christmas Eve dinner, 'yung Noche Buena, that was really, really special because all the housemates are just grateful and connected," she said.

Quincy, on the other hand, valued the time they were away from social media during their stay.

"We're away from our phones there. We really get to enjoy one-on-one interaction without social media like mga phone na hawak namin," she said.

The creatives behind the much-anticipated series "He's Into Her" — Vanessa Valdez, Maxine Lat, and director Chad Vidanes — let us through their process on how they came up with the novel-turned-series.

According to Direk Chad, he personally wanted to add an "international touch" to the series, hence the K-drama vibe as seen in the teaser trailer.

"Visually, we want it to meet the expectations. But me, personally as a director, I want to put an international touch. Ang peg talaga namin is K-dramas," he said.

"So me, my whole staff, parang we worked on the visual references from the set, lighting. We wanted to prove that Philippines can step it up," he added.

Vanessa also added how they wanted to let the audience feel the coming-of-age world of Max, which is portrayed by Belle Mariano.

"He wanted this to be a new world na pagpasok noong audience, kasabay ni Max, isa talaga 'tong bagong mundo. So talagang naghanap kami ng tamang location," she explained.

Being the writer behind the bestselling novel, Maxine said that Star Cinema really exceeded her expectations on how she imagined the story would be in real-life.

"Kaunti pa lang 'yung nakikita namin pero nag-exceed na po sila doon sa expectations namin. Iba kasi talaga 'yung quality na binigay sa'min ni iWant, ni Star Cinema, and ni ABS-CBN. Sobrang high quality talaga siya na ang layo doon sa expectation namin — [kasi] sobrang nahigitan nila," she said.
