Chai Fonacier is overjoyed after receiving praises from the internationally acclaimed French actress Eva Green!
Eva shared her experience working with Chai on the set of the upcoming Filipino-Irish film titled “Nocebo” by Lorcan Finnegan.
In an Instagram post, the “Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children” lead called Chai an “incredible partner” and was blown away by her performance.
“My fabulous co-star, @chaifonacier and I from the film we are shooting, NOCEBO directed by the amazing @lorcanfinnegan. Chai is truly a great actress with extraordinary depth and sensitivity and she was an incredible partner - she blew me away!” Eva wrote.
Chai, who is known for her roles in films like “Born Beautiful”, “Patay na si Hesus”, and more, just returned to the Philippines from Dublin, Ireland where they shot some scenes. Talking to ABS-CBN News, she exclaimed how happy Eva’s compliments have made her.
“Sobrang happy ako for hear to say that,” said Chai. Then she added that it meant more to her as she signed on to do the project with a bit of self-doubt.
She explained, “Most of the time, in my acting projects, the only thing I really want is to know if I'd done my part in realizing a creative vision, and this was more validation than I could hope for. After having very few projects throughout 2020 because of the pandemic I'd been feeling rusty going into this one, so sobrang happy ako to hear Eva say that. She's the loveliest person, really. It's a great experience working with such a talented artist, I'd do it again!”
Produced by Epic Media Philippines and international filmmaker/producer Brunella Cocchigglia, “Nocebo” follows a Filipino caregiver (Chai) who will use folk medicine to treat the mysterious illness of one fashion designer (Eva).
Some scenes were planned to be shot in Manila this summer. However, due to “travel bans and strict lockdowns”, filming is pushed back to June.
